THE 2nd INTERNATIONAL BIODIVERSITY SYMPOSIUM 2026
IBDS2026
KUALA TERENGGANU: AN ESSENTIAL GUIDE TO MALAYSIA’S EAST COAST GEM
Kuala Terengganu is the administrative as well as the royal capital of Malaysia’s Terengganu state. A city steeped in history and culture, it is full of stunning architecture, majestic mosques, lush green hills, and tranquil beaches, all against the backdrop of the crystal-clear waters of the South China Sea. There is plenty to see and do here, from souvenir hunting at local markets to exploring the museums to get an idea of the city’s past. Kuala Terengganu is an important trading port for Malaysia, besides being a cultural hub and gateway to several tourist attractions in the region. It is considered a melting pot of Malay, Chinese, and Arabic influences, which has shaped the city’s food, culture, traditions, and festivals. The city is also famed for being a hub for local arts and crafts, including songket, batik, brass, wood carving, boat building, and traditional carpentry.
We are looking forward to seeing you in Kuala Terengganu!
